LET ME DESIGN A BEAUTIFUL, ECOLOGICALLY SENSITIVE GARDEN FOR YOU! I HAVE FOURTY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN WATER CONSERVING, SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPE DESIGN FOR RESIDENTIAL CLIENTS. WE HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED FOR OUR PIONEERING WORK IN WATER CONSERVATION BY THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES AND THE LOS ANGELES DEPT. OF WATER AND POWER AND HAVE WON MANY AWARDS FOR OUR SUSTAINABLE GARDENS.
We are in the worst drought we have ever seen. In fact, this is the new normal called "aridification," meaning even more careful design than ever is needed to meet the demands of this ongoing situation.
We are a landscape design and construction management firm specializing in water conserving residential landscape projects. Robert Cornell is an award winning landscape designer and former licensed landscape contractor with 40 years of experience based in Pasadena, California. We can help you make your outdoors beautiful and water wise as well !
For 40 years we have been committed to environmental sensitivity in the design & construction of home gardens. This corresponds to the trends known as sustainable landscaping, xeriscape and water wise landscaping. What these approaches have in common are the conservation of resources such as water & energy and lowering maintenance costs and greenwaste. We do this through the use of native plants and other drought tolerant species, and the placement of trees to shade buildings to lower heat loads. In addition, because of more stringent watering restrictions and higher water pricing, we recommend increased use of drip irrigation and smart controllers to reduce water consumption. Another specialty of ours that requires environmental sensitivity is hillside planting for erosion control & fire safety.
In line with conserving resources, we often use recycled materials such as broken concrete and plastic lumber for decks and patios. We also have long experience with water permeable paving materials such as decomposed granite, stabilized DG, gravel and interlocking pavers.
